Keep the Squirrels out of your Bird Feeder

Enjoying the marvel of nature is something many of us do not have the opportunity to enjoy. If you are lucky enough to live in an area where birds, chipmunks and squirrels flourish, it's lovely to sit out in the backyard and just soak up all that nature has to offer by watching the wildlife. Having a feeder full of seeds is wonderful for the area birds, but can become a sanctuary for the squirrels that control the neighborhood. With a Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder you can offer feed for the birds without having to be concerned about the squirrels snooping.

The initial thing you are likely to become aware of when you go shopping for one of these for your backyard is how extensive the selection is. This is chiefly true in the spring and summer months when everybody is out buying Drollyankeeflipperoutdoor accessories for their homes. Most gardening or hardware stores will have diverse feeders including a squirrel Proof Bird feeder or two to choose from. The type you buy will depend on more than a few factors including price and where you will be mounting or hanging it.

Mounting these feeders isn't complicated at all. You first have to decide on a spot to place the feeder. Depending on the dimension and shape of it, hanging it from a tree might be the most excellent idea. Others find it better if they fix the squirrel proof bird feeder to the fence. Just be sure you select a spot that is easily available for the birds.

Regardless of where you do place it be prepared to observe the squirrels try with all their strength to get to the feed. They are determined little creatures and it will take them a moment before they finally realize that it's a useless endeavor. Don't be concerned about them going hungry though because those resourceful little animals always find some food.
